COVID-19 – Supporting Our Community

Throughout the first lockdown amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, pupils, staff and families from the Falcons community worked together while apart to provide invaluable PPE to both the NHS and those working in the community. We are incredibly proud of those involved, demonstrating goodwill and a passion to supply frontline workers with visors and masks as well as motivational support and donations.

  • More than 2,000 visors were provided to NHS hospitals including Kingston, Northwick Park, St George’s, The Royal London and Ealing. This was achieved in collaboration with our brother school Falcons Prep, other Alpha Plus Group schools including St Anthony’s Boys, and our friends at local schools.
  • One of our Year 5 Falcons pupils raised £600 with a bring & buy sale, selling books, games and toys from her family’s driveway. Donations were split equally between the NHS and FiSH Neighbourhood Care.
  • Our children also joined many others around the country and designed rainbow signs thanking the NHS and all our dedicated and selfless keyworkers.

 

Age UK Wandsworth were provided with masks made by Falcons’ Head Girl, with some even being produced out of recycled school uniform. This enabled volunteers to carry out critical home visits, ensuring our local elderly residents were able to be cared for and provided with essential supplies.

 

Mrs Di Nucci, our Reception Teacher, made masks out of unwanted linen and sold them to friends, family and neighbours. The donations raised went to the Masks4NHSHeroes fundraising campaign.
