Art

Rather than exist in a solitary sphere, Art can transcend the binary oppositions which exist in other studies; a piece can at once unite and bisect a people, diverting their beliefs and attitudes in its polarisation.

Here at Falcons School we challenge and explore our understanding of Art through a unique and imaginative curriculum, within which pupils are given great opportunity to apply their skills through a range of media. From the likes of sculpture and print in Year 1, to Pointillism and Native American Culture in Year 6, we traverse a range of genre and figures throughout the topic. Within our curriculum we also consider significant events such as Remembrance Day, Book Week and religious holidays; such considerations further afford us cross curricular learning in order to consolidate areas in other subjects studied in school. All of this takes place in our two designated open Art spaces, which boast great resources and materials. One need only tour the school buildings to witness the spectacular and diverse creations brought about by an engaged and progressive school body.
