Music

Ensembles

Pupils are encouraged to discover their passion for music through participation in one of our many ensembles on offer at Falcons School. Ensembles include:

  • Junior Choir
  • Concert Choir
  • Chamber Choir (auditioned)
  • String Ensemble
  • String Quartet
  • Woodwind Ensemble

Peripatetic Music Lessons

The Music department offers co-curricular music lessons with experienced, enthusiastic instrumental teachers, many of whom are also professional performers and composers. Lessons are offered on most orchestral instruments as well as voice, guitar and piano. 30 minute lessons are held weekly and follow a rotating timetable to ensure the same classes are not missed regularly. These are individual lessons and are an additional termly cost to the school fees.

Performance Opportunities

Our pupils are seen regularly performing in school events, throughout the community and even abroad to extend their performance skills and showcase their talents. The Music department hosts six instrumental concerts annually and encourages all pupils to take part to showcase their development and experience the true joy of performing for family and friends. Pupils all have the chance to take part in our school musicals and plays and are carefully cast to provide each child with a chance to shine.

Other performances that our pupils, ensembles and soloists have participated in include:

  • Outstanding Musical productions for EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Harvest Festival
  • Christmas Service
  • Putney Christmas Lights Switch On Christmas Carols
  • Hotel Christmas Carols
