PSHEE

At Falcons School , our PSHEE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) and Citizenship curriculum perfectly compliments our passion for preparing pupils for all aspects of life in a fast changing world. We nurture positive, resilient and reflective children to take ownership of their emotional wellbeing, and understand that this goes hand in hand with academic achievement.

The PSHEE curriculum is broken up into six key areas which are introduced and developed over their time at school: rights and responsibilities, feelings and friendships, money, safety and risk, health and identity.

Pupils are taught PSHEE as a specific subject every week, as well as interweaving these core topics into other areas of the curriculum. These lessons can involve discussions, case studies, scenarios and problem solving activities. Children have form time at the start of the morning and afternoon sessions, where many of the key PSHEE themes and discussions continue with their form tutors.

To experience the important themes of the curriculum in the wider community, pupils go on trips and take part in events including Enterprise Week, Litter Picking and visits to the Sutton Life Centre, as well as supporting our local charity ‘FISH’.
